District Police Office is located at Rahon Road Nawanshahr in the heart of the city Nawanshahr

The following Police officers hold their sittings in the DPO:

1. Senior Superintendent of Police, S.B.S. Nagar
2. Superintendent of Police, Head-Quarter.
3. Superintendent of Police, Detective.
4.Deputy Superintendent of Police, Det.                                                                                                                   5.Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hqrs.

The following branches operate in the District Police Office, S.B.S. Nagar:
1.
English Branch :-
This is an administrative section of the District Police Office under the supervision of Head Clerk. He deals with all matters relating to the establishment i.e. recruitment, promotion and postings, buildings and equipments etc. It is a nodal office of the district police administration
2.
Account Branch: -
Account branch deals with the salary of the force, allowance, advances and miscellaneous funds and expenditures etc. Head of the branch is called Accountant
3.
O.S.I Branch: -
This branch deals with the record of the posting and training of district force and maintains the miscellaneous service records.
4.
P.C.Branch: - 
This branch deals with the complaints of the public. Record of the complaints including findings is maintained by this branch
5.
R. W .Branch :-

This branch deals with the preparation of crime statistics and returns.
6.
Computer Branch :-

This branch mainly deals with the records of the branches. It also maintains the data of crimes and criminals.

7.
Litigation Branch :-  

This branch mainly deals with the records of writs.
8.
POLNET :-  

This branch mainly deals with the messages. All messages to different offices are sent and received at this branch.
9.
CRO Branch:- 
his branch mainly deals with crime records and various type of returns.
10.
VRK Branch:- 
his branch mainly deals with the records of the missles. Total FIR record, Untrace reports, cancelled reports, inquest reports are maintain by this branch
11.
CPRC Branch :-
This branch mainly deals with Verification of Passport, PCC, Foreign Head & MRG (Matters Referred to  Government), Service Verification  and Hassle Free FIR
12.
Security Branch: -

This branch deals with :
- Visits of VIPs and VVIP.
- Functions of religious ceremonies and village Fairs.
-  Demonstrations by Political Parties and employees organizations.
-  Security arrangement on Dharna, sports meet.
13.

CRC Branch :-

This branch mainly deals with the Character Rolls of police personnel.
